How we choose products
Every guide follows the same process, so you can trust that the top pick earned its place.
- We start from the problem. Each guide targets a real need, such as a desk for a small corner or a chair for back pain, and we only include products that solve it.
- We compare the specs that matter. Dimensions, weight limits, adjustment ranges, materials and warranty terms, checked against the manufacturer's own listings.
- We read what owners say. We look for patterns in verified owner reviews across retailers, especially problems that show up after weeks of use.
- We score each product out of 10 on build quality, comfort or usability, features and value for money. The score reflects how well the product fits the need the guide covers.
- We check the facts before you buy. The "Before you buy" box under each product (assembly, weight, warranty) only uses figures from the maker or a major retailer. If we can't confirm a figure, we leave it blank.
- We keep guides current. We check every Amazon link regularly. When a product changes, sells out or gets beaten by something better, we update the guide and its date.
About our tools
The desk height calculator and chair fit checker use common ergonomic ratios and the makers' published height ranges and weight limits. Bodies vary, so treat the results as a starting point. When a product is within about an inch of your numbers, we mark it as close rather than a firm yes or no.
What we don't do
We don't run a test lab, and we never claim hands-on testing we haven't done. When we have used a product ourselves, the review says so.
Money never decides the ranking. We earn a commission from Amazon on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. Brands can't pay to be included, and we never rank a product higher because it earns us more.
